How to use an Outlook Template File (.oft)

To add the Outlook Template file (.oft) to Outlook for use, click the ‘New’ email button in the toolbar and select ‘Mail from Template’ from the dropdown.

A dialogue box will appear, from here you can click on the ‘Manage Templates’ button to add the oft file.

Select the blue ‘+ Add template’ button.

From the Add mail templates (.oft) window, click the blue ‘Choose’ button.

Navigate to where the oft template file is saved and select it and click the ‘Open’ button at the bottom of the window.

You can then click on the blue ‘Add’ button at the bottom of the window.

Outlook will then import the template.

You can now close out of settings.

You will then click on the ‘New’ email button again, selecting ‘Mail from template’.

This will bring up the ‘New mail from template’ window again, this time with the template available for you to use.

Click on the template name and Outlook will load the template into a new email, and you can edit the email.
