Logo Guidelines
EICC Logo
Modern, digital-ready, and built for clarity across screens, signs, and print.
The stylized “EI” remains central — honoring our legacy — with three horizontal bars representing our campuses: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott.
The sweeping curve through the “E” and “I” reflects the Mississippi River, symbolizing our regional connection.
Our standard combination logo consists of the “EI” logomark stacked either atop or to the left of our name. It is presentable in either vertical or horizontal orientations.
The isolated “EI” logomark may be used in limited settings where space demands it (web favicons, engraved pins, or other small-scale applications) and must be approved by the marketing office.
Clear Space and Logo Sizing
A margin of clear space should always be maintained around the logo. This area of isolation is roughly equal to half the size of the “EI” logomark within the logo being used. This will ensure that sufficient space is maintained around the logo regardless of its size.
All text, other logos, or any design elements besides photos or background art should not enter this clear space in order to maintain a distinct appearance of the logo.
When in doubt, let the logo breathe! More often than not, surrounding the logo with ample blank area (or “negative space”) will help your designs maintain better legibility than forcing it into tight spaces.

Logo Variations
Variations of our logo are allowed in circumstances where space or materials require them. Use of these logo variations should be cleared with the marketing team to ensure our logo guidelines are maintained in these special circumstances.

Badge Logo
The badge is a limited-use logo featuring the “EI” logomark atop the letters “EICC.” Use of the badge must be approved by the marketing team.

Incorrect Logo Usage
Correct and consistent use of the logo is an essential part of building brand equity. While a great deal of fl exibility has been built into the visual identity system, the correct use of each element has been carefully defined.
The examples shown here represent some — but not all — of the ways the EICC logo might be used incorrectly. If you have questions about the correct or incorrect use of the college’s logos, contact marketing.

DO NOT:
- Add a drop shadow or any other eff ects to the logo.
- Use unapproved color confi gurations of the logo.
- Add additional information to the primary logo.
- Change the typeface of any part of the logo.
- Place the logo on a color that does not provide suffi cient contrast.
- Place the logo on visually distracting backgrounds.
- Pull logos from the website for use in print.
- Use retired versions of the logo, including the “THE Community’s College” logo.
Logo Colors
The EICC logo may appear in the following alternate colorways. The primary red/black logo should feature first and foremost where background colors permit. If the background color approches a darkness of approximately 20 – 30% black, the white variation may be used to ensure sufficient visibility.

Department Logos
Departments closely related to or sponsored by EICC may use an identifier consisting of the “EI” logomark followed by the department name. These logos must follow our primary logo guidelines and should only be used in limited circumstances where referencing the department name in body text is insufficient (e.g., flyers, special events, signage).

Why does every logo have two versions? Light and dark variations of logos help ensure visual clarity when used on most background colors or images.
Organization Logos
Organizations include groups with their own existing identities or brand guidelines separate from EICC. These visual identities may differ from the college’s, even when the organization is governed by college personnel.

Club Logos
Clubs have more flexibility in expressing their personality through logo design, with relaxed brand standards compared to departments and organizations. Where appropriate, clubs may draw inspiration from EICC’s visual identity to maintain alignment with our brand. The primary EICC logo may also be added, provided proper clear space is observed, though its inclusion is not required.
Some clubs may develop distinct visual identities or design aesthetics apart from the college’s. We encourage clubs to bring their ideas forward — the marketing team is happy to collaborate on refining club concepts into designs that work well across print, digital, and event settings. This partnership ensures club logos remain true to the club’s vision while also being practical and professional for widespread use.
